The Role
This is a truly unique opportunity for a motivated, passionate and experienced Station Manager to run one of our client's flagship properties, a 3,000-ha sheep and cattle property, situated in the scenic Jugiong region, NSW.
You will be managing an established team of 2 staff, plus contractors, as well as the day-to-day operation of this 3,000-ha station, 500 ha of which is cropped annually in a pasture rotation. They boast a flock of 9,5000 Merino breeder ewes (plus followers), a small herd of breeding Angus/Hereford, great amenities, modern technology (inc software) and infrastructure.
You will be working alongside industry-leading consultants and be responsible for upholding and continually improving the production of high-quality wool and beef. Furthermore, you will leverage our client's industry-leading standards to continue to produce the highest quality products.
About You
You will play a vital role in this organisation, and therefore important that you can display the following:
Excellent record-keeping, communication, and organisational skills
Passionate about sheep / livestock, with the ability to manage, train and mentor junior staff
Proven experience working large flocks
Commercial acumen
Passionate about animal health and welfare
Practical knowledge of machinery and infrastructure maintenance
Strong computer literacy - exposure to Agriwebb, Stockbook and Excel will be highly regarded
Excellent time management skills
Strong commitment to WH&S best practises
Possess a hands-on approach to station management
