OverviewWe are seeking an creative and experienced Pastry Chef de Partie - Baker to deliver a memorable experience by creating a place to savour for our guests and establish The Langham, Gold Coast as a dining institution.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all laminated dough, pastry, tarts, and occasion cakes, undertaking all aspects of the process from weighing to mixing, shaping and baking to ensure every product is of perfect quality and produced on time to meet daily production requirements.Responsible for the creation, decorating and presentation of desserts including cakes, pastries, desserts, mousses and bakery items, ensuring that The Property is positioned as the leading destination for Bakery and Pastry on the Gold Coast.Ability to start work at 4:00am to ensure breakfast pastries are baked fresh daily to our standards required.Assist the Executive Pastry Chef and other Senior Pastry Chefs with the Food Safety Management System; ensure work methods are safe and best practices are maintained and encourage teamwork and camaraderie.Develop innovative and distinctive Dessert Menus that resonate with each Outlet and craft an experience for guests to remember; optimise the use of quality products, create dessert trends and enhance the guest experience.About YouOur Pastry Chef de Partie will be an innovator and true Artisan with experience in high-end volume operations at a luxury hotel/high-end restaurant or café and proven leadership of teams to achieve high performance in food quality and innovation.Other key attributes we are looking for include:Passion for the craft and industrySound knowledge of the latest trends and Artisan experience in the industryKnowledge of lamination/techniques for croissant and Danish pastriesProven experience delivering bespoke menus and amenitiesPassion for service excellence and providing superior hospitality experienceProven ability to work in a high pressure and fast-paced environmentCreative, eye for detail and a flair for presentationExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsCompleted technical education in hospitality or culinary schoolAustralian work rightsLive fully with LanghamThe Langham Hotels & Resorts offers current and future colleagues:Benchmarked and competitive remunerationExcellent training opportunities and career progressionComplimentary meals and laundry6 complimentary hotel nights at LHG hotels and resorts each yearA vast array of benefits and recognition incentives
