My client delivers specialist, physical hardware products and innovative electronics technology to global customers. This is a successful Australian company, with new design headquarters in a great central Sydney location.
The Role
In this Compliance Engineer role, you’ll focus on compliance and testing of products to support regulatory compliance and testing within cross-functional engineering teams. You will ensure products meet global market access requirements, regulatory and industry standards as well as customer specifications. Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Compliance Engineer you will:
- Manage the process of obtaining certifications and approval from regulatory bodies for new and existing products
- Work with development teams to ensure products are designed and developed in accordance with applicable industry and regulatory compliance standards
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation that demonstrates operations and products are compliant
- Oversee internal and external compliance testing and validation activities including preparing test artefacts and test plans for internal testing and third-party test houses
- Continuously monitor changes in compliance regulations and industry best practices and identify impact on existing products
- Manage standards and purchase of product standards when required
- Support documentation and management of product configurations, identifying when re-certification or compliance issues may arise from engineering design changes
- Be involved in the approval process of external wireless devices to support live testing
- Guide engineering teams on compliance requirements during design phase and verification
- Assist in responding to requests for information re standards, regulations and legislation
Skills and experience
- BS or master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (B. Tech, Systems Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering), or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience with a focus on compliance within complex project environments
- Hands-on experience engaging with test houses to managing compliance and test programs to certify products within complex regulatory environments
- Experience with compliance standards relevant to the technology and RF communication industry (examples include FCC, CE, RCM, ACMA, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810)
- Experience in the successful development and delivery of complex products within a regulated environment
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices in systems engineering to ensure the integrity and security of systems is desirable
- Comfortable working within the Atlassian ecosystem with experience managing project deliverables using Jira or other project management tools
- You would excel in a high empowerment, fast paced environment, surrounded by likeminded, high achieving people
