* Lead and direct a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement and manage multiple programs and projects (currently to $270M in value), and governance set up for projects for the DRFA program, ensuring quality, budget and project time scale milestones are met.
* In consultation with internal and external stakeholders, plan, design and develop strategic programs to achieve the desired objectives for the DRFA Program.
* Provide high level advice to internal Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) executive on progressing projects.
* Plan and establish programs, manage required procurement and grant programs, ensure project scope and timings are aligned to broader objectives set out in the DRFA Program.
* Manage program and project budgets including ensure budgetary adherence by all parties throughout each program including setup and adherence to sign-off and completion of reports.
* Ensure all programs are compliant with legislation, government approvals, DETSI policies and procedures, environmental protection and Work Health and Safety.
* Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
To perform this role successfully, it is critical that you demonstrate high level ability,skills, and knowledge in the following areas:
* Developing, leading and managing complex programs, including demonstrated program, project and budget management experience on significant multi-faceted inter-governmental programs.
* Leading and managing a team to deliver significant program outcomes in specified deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure and problem-solve to deliver programs and projects with significant challenges related to site and stakeholder expectations.
* Ability to work with stakeholders to gather and analyse data and write influential business cases, develop program guidelines and other written material.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to consult and negotiate with contractors, clients and project partners to deliver on time and maintain team motivation to deliver outcomes.
* Proficiency or the ability to become rapidly familiar with the department's program, procurement and grant management procedures and reporting systems and tools.
* The ability to contribute to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion by bringing your unique experiences and perspectives
