The Psychology team provide psychological services to inpatients and outpatient clinics of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).

You will provide leadership and support to a team of psychologists including clinical psychologists, clinical neuropsychologists and Health Psychologists and collaborate with other allied health, nursing, medical and leadership teams.

The Role:

You will assist the Manager, Psychology Services with service coordination and management including supervision of staff and students, providing clinical leadership and professional support to psychologists working in Psychology Services and ensuring that evidence‐based practice is provided in accordance with organisational policies and the professional code of conduct of the Psychology Board of Australia. You will be responsible for supporting effective team operations in the delivery of high‐quality care.

You will manage a clinical caseload in an agreed area of practice, handling and overseeing referrals of high complexity, and participate as a member of relevant clinical and management teams and committees, including deputising for the Manager Psychology Services as required.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated extensive clinical knowledge and experience as a practicing Psychologist in health/clinical settings with substantial knowledge of contemporary evidence‐based practice in a relevant clinical area.
  • Demonstrated clinical supervision and leadership skills with extensive experience in supervising and/or leading provisional, registrar and registered Psychologists and support staff, and an understanding of theoretical frameworks for clinical supervision and/or leadership.
  • High level strategic, conceptual, analytic and creative skills, including an ability to understand the political, social and organisational environment and to advise on relevant issues and appropriate changes.

Salary Packaging:

You'll have access to a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $135,445 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Applicants should note that the following criteria are desirable:

  • Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Neuropsychologist and/or Health Psychologist.
  • Post‐graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or Health Psychology.
  • Registration as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Relevant post‐graduate qualifications in staff supervision, leadership or management.
