Are you someone who thrives on accuracy, organisation, and playing a key role in keeping essential transport services running smoothly? We are seeking an experienced and detail‐focused Inventory Controller (Rollingstock) to support the Transperth Train Operations Mechanical Engineering Branch. In this critical position, you will take ownership of catalogue management for diesel railcar inventory, ensuring that engineers and operational teams have the information and materials they need to maintain safe and reliable Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) railcar services.

As the Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining a precise and comprehensive catalogue of rollingstock components, collaborating closely with engineers and procurement specialists to validate data, introduce new items, and ensure all inventory information remains accurate and up to date. You will also play a key role in monitoring stock levels, optimising storage and replenishment processes, and ensuring inventory control aligns with PTA policy. Your contributions will directly support operational efficiency, cost control, and the continued delivery of high‐quality public transport services.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

* Bring solid experience in inventory management, maintenance environments, and parts interpretation, with strong capability using ERP systems for inventory control, maintenance planning, reporting and data analytics.
* Be an effective communicator with well‐developed interpersonal and written skills, able to work confidently with colleagues at all levels and operate both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Excel at problem‐solving, using initiative to identify process improvements, resolve issues professionally, and contribute to continuous improvement across the branch.
* Be highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities while working methodically and leveraging your proficiency in spreadsheets, data processing tools, email and internet‐based systems.
