Leading paediatric care where it matters most
About the Opportunity
The Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical leadership and consultancy across paediatric services throughout Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
This district-wide role supports inpatient and community-based paediatric care, including Emergency Departments, and integrates clinical leadership, service provision, research, education and service planning to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, child and family-centred care.
Working closely with the District Head of Paediatric Medicine, the Paediatric CNC will contribute to district-wide paediatric service planning, aligned with NSW Health priorities, and represent MLHD on paediatric matters at a state-wide level.
As the CNC – Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will be responsible for:
* The provision of expert clinical consultancy and leadership across paediatric services to support safe, contemporary and patient-centred care
* Role modelling exemplary care practices and promoting evidence-based practice
* Leading and supporting clinical service reviews and the implementation of best-practice models of care
* Contribution to paediatric research, service improvement initiatives and evaluation of complex clinical care needs
* The development, implementation and coordination of professional education programs

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including at least 3 years postgraduate experience in paediatrics
* Postgraduate nursing qualifications in Paediatrics
* A strong understanding of the five Clinical Nurse Consultant domains
* Excellent communication, leadership and consultancy skills
* Commitment to continuous learning, research and service improvement
