This is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026

Geraldton Senior High School (SHS) aims to create a safe, inclusive and creative environment where every student can succeed. Role summary: Geraldton SHS is seeking a hardworking and dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team.


The Role

The successful applicant will ideally have initiative, good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and exceptional organisational abilities. The role requires the ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently. Responsibilities include preparing chemicals, equipment, and materials, and managing laboratory stocks, including ordering of supplies, equipment and materials.

There may be opportunity to increase the FTE of this position in the future.

* A CV of up to four pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position
* An up to three-page statement addressing the following selection criteria as outlined in the attached JDF
* Demonstrated experience working within a science laboratory, including knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements.
* Demonstrated knowledge of science subjects relevant to the curriculum taught in secondary schools and the ability to design and construct experiments and equipment to support curriculum requirements.
* Demonstrated good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and ability to work independently.
* Demonstrated well developed keyboarding and computer skills including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
