About NBMLHD 
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) provides public health and clinical services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region. The district offers a range of Medical Imaging (Radiology), Nuclear Medicine, and Nuclear Medical Therapy procedures to diagnose, assess, and treat patients. 
Position Summary 
Blue Mountains Hospital, located in Katoomba, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Radiographer to join a multidisciplinary team. As a Senior Radiographer, you will lead imaging services, provide expert diagnostic imaging, and mentor junior staff. You will collaborate with medical teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and contribute to the continuous improvement of radiology services. You will ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all imaging practices, collaborate to optimise patient care pathways, and participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and protocols. 
Responsibilities 
- Lead imaging services and provide expert diagnostic imaging support. 
- Mentor and supervise radiographers and students. 
- Collaborate with medical teams to optimise patient care pathways. 
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in imaging practices. 
- Contribute to evaluation and implementation of new technologies and protocols. 
What You Will Bring To The Role 
- Possess a degree in Medical Radiation Science, current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner, and a current Radiation Licence from NSW EPA. 
- Possess an appropriately recognised postgraduate qualification relevant to the area of specialisation, or equivalent relevant professional experience. 
- Demonstrated knowledge and clinical expertise in a range of general X-ray modalities (mobile X-ray, theatre, emergency, paediatric, outpatient, and inpatient imaging), including quality assurance, education and assessment, and quality improvement or research activities. 
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, instruct, support and mentor radiographers and students. 
- Ability to work autonomously with initiative and problem solving, and to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. 
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for team building, conflict resolution and performance feedback; experience in change management strategies. 
- Proven capability to manage operations within a diagnostic radiology department and discharge administrative duties, including patient care and throughput; knowledge of relevant legislation and standards; ability to manage resources. 
- Current NSW driver’s licence with the ability to work at other sites within the LHD as required.
