About the Role
The Frontline Trainee position is a 24-month program designed for 2025 school leavers who are passionate about technology, eager to learn, committed to developing their IT skillset and most importantly, eager to help others. This role provides in office support at various schools with the opportunity to gain hands on experience whilst getting paid to study!
We currently have multiple traineeships available across the Northern Beaches & Central Coast areas.
The suitable applicant must be willing to travel to the school within their region.
The Frontline Trainee will work closely with experienced IT professionals, gaining hands‑on experience and knowledge in areas such as hardware and software troubleshooting, network administration, cybersecurity, and IT support.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for career growth and advancement within the IT field. In this traineeship, you will study to obtain your Certificate III and IV in Information Technology.
This role requires on-site attendance at one of our eight (8) secondary schools within CSBB, under the supervision of the Trainee Coordinator and well supported by an appointed mentor. This provides an excellent springboard for young people looking to pursue a career in Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities
Engage with instructions regarding work, training and coursework.
Complete and partake in necessary training to complete relevant Cert III and Cert IV in Information Technology
Undertake tasks, assessments and assignments as per the allocated course
Interact with students and staff in appointed school to provide technical support. This experience will help develop strong customer service and communication skills, which are essential for IT support roles.
Work closely with school stakeholders and seek to deliver solutions under the guidance of the Trainee Coordinator.
Install and configure hardware and software on devices including PCs, laptops and tablets.
Troubleshooting of programs and applications to resolve issues that may occur;
Enrolment of devices to the CSBB Network;
Assist with the Digital Enablement Service Desk via the portal and in person;
Completion of work logged by staff onsite in a timely manner;
Ensuring CSBB implemented project outcomes are met/maintained;
Deploying/ Disposing of technology used by staff and students.
Following cybersecurity best practices as determined by CSBB to help protect the organisation’s data and systems.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems
Knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products
