Fire Communications Officer Role
This role is responsible for emergency call taking, dispatching on-scene communications, coordinating and managing resources. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing critical support to emergency services and the community.
* Assess the risks associated with a situation and the availability and capability of resources to determine the appropriate response and/or resources to be despatched
Key Accountabilities
* Accept incoming fire and other relevant emergency incident calls and enquiries and collect relevant information
* Despatch and coordinate appropriate resources to calls for assistance and notify other organisations in accordance with the Communication Doctrine and Directives
Requirements
* A valid Blue Card (from Blue Card Services) with attached evidence to support
* Australian Citizenship, New Zealand Citizenship or Australian Resident Status
* Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Communications Centre Operations)
Desirable Requirements
* Typing speed of 45 wpm with 95% accuracy
* Apply First Aid and CPR Certificates
