The Company
Our client is a Canadian commercial aerospace giant offering new aircraft manufacturing, engineering, aftermarket modifications, parts manufacturing and flight training services for over 100 years. They currently have approximately 1,200 employees across 3 major provinces within Canada and as well as in markets and distribution hubs world-wide.
They are currently supplying aircraftand avionic engineering services to major Australian flight providers with Qantas and Jetstar being some of their major clients.
Role in brief
An Aircraft Support Technologist/Engineer to join the in-house Service Engineering Systems & Technical Support team to provide technical expertise and solutions for in-service issues related to overall product safety, reliability and maintainability of the aircraft.
The successful candidates must be able to travel to Canada for an initial training period of 2 to 3 months and ongoing training for several weeks per year.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain timely responses to customer queries and technical needs in accordance with business Service Level Agreement and Charging Policy.
- Maintain focus on reducing operator OOS time and increased fleet utilisation.
- Maintain support to Continuing Airworthiness requirements for all fleet types through data collection and reporting, SDR/Incident investigation, and management..
- Ensure quality solutions are provided in a 24-7 environment through the provision of technical troubleshooting, return to service documentation, and awareness of possible needed modifications.
- Provide on-site assistance at operator'sfacilities as required.
- Create deliverablesuch as All Operator Messages, Service Letters, Concession Support Letters, Reference Instruction Letters, In Service Activity Reports and other fleet communications
- Prepare reports and communication packages to support customer meetings, regional reviews, conferences, working groups and other initiatives
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of five (5) yearsexperience in an aircraft maintenance and airline environment.
- An active AME license or have a strong aviation Technical background, or a minimum Bachelor in Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
- Experience in an aircraft maintenance and airline environment.
- Must have familiarity with Dash aircraft family including DHC-6 Twin Otter, DHC-8 Dash 8, and DHC-515 Firefighter.
- Strong working knowledge of Aircraft Systems, Avionics and Structures and able to function in an extremely fast paced environment.
- Be able to travel internationally on short notice and you are very flexible in terms of working hours to support a 24/7/365 days operation.
- Exceptional ability to deal effectively with customers, in times of stressful circumstances.
- Dynamic oral and written communicator, with strong stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills preferred amongst other relevant aircraft service management platforms.
