About the Brand, Digital and Communications Team
The Brand, Digital and Communications (BDC) team supports NSW Government agencies to deliver cost effective advertising and manages government-owned communication channels. BDC delivers internal and external communications, with a focus on regulatory reform, cyber security, digital and service delivery excellence. Our channels reach over five million subscribed customers, 1.4 million business owners and 6,000 stakeholder groups across NSW. Working in the BDC team offers a creative environment with a large team of communication specialists.
About the role
This role provides high-level support for the Executive Director, including management of financial, operational and people matters. The Executive Director leads teams responsible for operational communication functions including All of Government Brand, Advertising and Engagement, Brand and Creative Services, Customer Marketing, Media, Internal Communications and Stakeholder Engagement. The role will work closely with four directors and an executive assistant, and liaise with the office of the Deputy Secretary of Policy, Strategy and Governance.
Responsibilities
* Prepare, manage and review high-level communications and correspondence including briefings, reports, submissions and notes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Act as the executive point of contact, liaise with stakeholders, and coordinate communication to meet deadlines.
* Implement, monitor, and report on strategic, operational and project plans to inform decision making and support organisational objectives.
* Research and prepare strategic advice, information, and reports on diverse policy, planning and operational matters.
* Provide issues management and support, responding to emerging issues to ensure effective resolution with minimal risk.
* Lead or contribute to projects to support organisational objectives.
* Develop and oversee administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimise efficiency and quality outcomes.

* Effective communication and diplomacy with staff, clients and stakeholders.
* Knowledge of financial management principles and ability to manage budgets and resources.
* Strong decision-making skills and the ability to make informed choices.
* Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Experience in leading teams or influencing people leadership and change management.
* Experience in leading the delivery of secretariat services.
