In accordance with organisational policies and the professional code of conduct of the Psychology Board of Australia, the Psychologist - Paediatrics provides a psychological service, including evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions, to paediatric patients of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH), including inpatient and outpatient services.
The Team:
The Paediatrics Psychologist is part of a larger psychology team supporting both inpatients and outpatient services; we are a small and mighty team with a diverse range of skills who promote work life balance and continuing professional development.

The Paediatric psychologist's core work is with Out of Home Care children and youth to improve access to supports by assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions and working closely with other health professionals to facilitate care options.
The Role:
Provide evidence-based assessments to aid the understanding of the difficulties and strengths a child and young person may be experiencing to facilitate recommendations regarding support needs.
Provide consultative advice to carers and staff regarding; trauma informed care, childhood developmental disorders and how best to support children and youth.
Provide time limited therapeutic supports during the assessment phase to children and young person.
You will need:
Registration as a Psychologist through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Hold a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration
Experience working with children and young people

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, 8 January **** until 31 December ****.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement ****.
Salary Packaging:
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
Where required for a particular role:
Area of Practice Endorsement ie, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Sport Psychology
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Psychology Board of Australia Approved Area of Practice Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist.
Postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia as a Board Approved Supervisor
