Local QLD council looking to grow their Local Laws Team
**Your new company**
Our client is a local council who is driven to create a positive change for the citizens within its district. They are involved in a range of local schemes to improve quality of lifestyle and are looking to add an Rapid Responce Officer to join Growing Community and Environmental Services Team.
**Your new role**
- Investigate and remove abandoned vehicles, shopping trolleys and illegally placed signage throughout the city.
- Conduct city-wide patrols and surveillance of abandoned vehicle and signage hotspot locations (proactive and reactive), attend reinspection's for non-compliance and enforce in line with relevant operational procedures and legislation.
- Undertake all impounding duties including identifying property ownership through appropriate checks.
- Coordinate the release of impounded goods.
- Support programming of and participate in scheduled impounded vehicle auctions.
- Maintain clear and factual records that can contribute to legally enforceable compliance outcomes.
- Accurate entry and maintenance of data and evidence in Council's corporate systems, including file notes, inspection reports and other documents.
Input into the development of the Mobility solution and use mobile app
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 2009, the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 and Regulations, and Council's Local Laws No. 2, 9, 10 and 12, and associated subordinate local laws.
- Experience in navigating and interpreting State legislation and local laws.
- Experience in delivering quality customer service including communication of complex information into simple concepts to facilitate customer understanding, manage expectations and achieve results. Proven conflict resolution skills to attain desired outcomes in a dignified and respectful manner whilst maintaining a positive Council image.
- Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical aspects of the position in an often adversarial environment.
- Demonstrated time-management skills, specifically the ability to be able to prioritise demands and workloads, and the ability to maintain attention to detail when working on routine tasks.
- Competency or the ability to acquire competency in Council's corporate computer systems and Mobility solution.
- Must possess a current 'C' class driver's licence and be competent in the use of specialised vehicles and equipment.
- Must undergo a pre-employment functional assessment and to be able to meet the physical requirements of this position.
