The Opportunity
This is a rare and challenging career opportunity to join a dynamic local government where you can make a difference through the delivery of critical projects and services that contribute to the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley's strategic objective of Connecting our cultures, striving for prosperity, celebrating the spirit of country and community.
Working closely with the infrastructure operations team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of asset allocation decisions. Additionally you will support the generation of reports for internal and external purposes, and provide insights to support informed decision-making.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Reviewing and implementing the Shire's: Rolling 10-year Capital Works Program, 10-year Asset Management Plan, Asset Management Policy, relevant Asset Management Strategies, Systems and Processes;
* Leading the planning and delivery of self-performed civil construction works;
* Guiding and mentoring Technical Officers in the development of design packages for in-house construction aligned with the Shire's standards and safety regulations;
* Providing technical support to the Department as required;
* Coordinating input from both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that renewed assets meet operational, maintenance, and safety requirements, and are delivered fit-for-purpose;
* Reporting asset condition, construction progress, and financial forecasts to Executive Management and Council focusing on forward works planning and preventive maintenance;
* Accurately ensuring the update of asset information following renewal, upgrading, or maintenance works and supporting systems;
* Contributing to a collaborative and professional team environment, through effective communication, mentoring, and leadership in service delivery improvement.
