The Mount Isa Copper and Zinc streams are integrated across the entire supply chain, from resource identification and development to production and distribution of copper, zinc and lead to customers across the world.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead the smelter reliability engineering department. The role requires a qualified reliability professional with experience in the mining industry, strong management skills, and creative thinking to drive innovative projects that improve operational efficiency.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for measuring, monitoring and managing equipment health including maximizing equipment availability and reliability (MTBF and MTTR). This included daily downtime review and month end reporting
* Using the above to make data-driven decisions to improve equipment performance and reduce unplanned cost
* Managing statutory maintenance and work management of prescribed equipment
* Shutdown optimisation: ensure the right work is included and executed, equipment inspections to inform urgent and future work to support defect elimination and improve equipment availability and reliability
* Responsible for equipment criticality analysis and maintenance strategy development both short and long term
* Overseeing equipment condition monitoring and lubrication programs
* Leading failure investigation for failures resulting in equipment downtime and unplanned cost
* Leading effective defect and risk elimination programs
* Cost saving initiatives
* Responsible for maintenance and operational reliability culture development to facilitate equipment being operated and maintained for reliability and continually driving the improvement of the reliability programs
* Leading equipment integrity assessments and condition risk assessments
* Ensure equipment is fit for purpose, maintainability and reliability studies
* Digital and technology initiatives such as equipment health reports, downtime reporting and management, reliability dashboards and predictive maintenance analytics
* Optimization of assigned resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste
* Responsible for developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency (including ensuring the team is competent and qualified to complete assigned tasks)
* Providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance to Processing policies, standards and procedures for the Reliability team
Safety Leadership
* Physical observations of the work environment and people
* Ensuring compliance with standards and procedures
* Role modelling of safety behaviours
* The management of incidents and investigations
The successful applicants will have:
* 7+ years engineering and project delivery experience and/or maintenance engineering experience
* Mechanical engineering degree
* Previous leadership experience
* Previous reliability engineering experience in mining fixed plant maintenance
* 8 years Mining / Heavy industry experience
* Demonstrated understanding of mineral processing systems, processes, and their interrelationships (including maintenance systems, e.g., SAP)
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Experience supervising and developing large work teams to deliver business outcomes
* Knowledge of and experience in budgeting processes
* Basic level Microsoft Office Suite
* Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements for Mining
* Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
