Working for the Australian office, you will assist in supporting over 150 individual underwriting agencies in a tight-knit, high-performing team. Based in Sydney, the team play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and reputation of the brand across Australia and New Zealand. Your new role
* Support with regulatory oversight across Australia and New Zealand through managing internal registers, policies, and procedures.
* Assist with the onboarding of new underwriting agencies
* Support regulatory reporting for nearly 200 entities, by drafting market-wide communications and monitoring returns
* Proactively monitor, identify, and assess emerging regulatory developments and assist in anticipating their potential impact on the business
* Monitor multiple critical inboxes (compliance, legal, accounts) and ensure timely and accurate responses
* Prepare legal files and assist with processing invoices from regulators (including ASIC, APRA) and suppliers
* Be cross-trained and participate in various operational functions, including office support and meeting coordination
What you'll need to succeed
* A keen interest in compliance, regulation, law and/or insurance
* Experience in insurance, legal and/or compliance is preferred but not essential. However, you must be interested in a varied role; from admin to regulatory oversight
* Recent graduates in law will be considered, with full training on offer for those interested in transitioning their skills into compliance
* Those who have been in insurance, compliance and/or regulatory-focused roles who are now looking for a step back will also be considered
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially for manual processes and record keeping
* Excellent communication skills for drafting and distributing regulatory comms
* A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and taking ownership
* Comfortable working across multiple internal systems and managing shared responsibilities
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-functioning team environment with a strong work ethic
