We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices in various trade areas, including carpentry, heavy vehicle mechanics, electrical work, and parks and gardens maintenance.
As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge while working on real projects and tasks that contribute to the delivery of council services.
Job Description
* Carpenter: Support the construction and maintenance of public facilities, such as theaters, convention centers, and administration buildings, while undertaking study towards a certificate III in carpentry.
* Heavy Vehicle Mechanic: Assist in the service and maintenance of a wide range of heavy vehicles and machinery, while undergoing hands-on training and formal study towards a certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
* Electrician: Participate in the installation and maintenance of civil infrastructure, such as pumps, fixed plant, and communications equipment, while completing your certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
* Parks and Gardens: Develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the maintenance and improvement of public parks, gardens, streetscapes, and urban environments, supporting daily operations of the team while completing a certificate III in Parks and Gardens.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
* Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
* Education: White card (General Construction Induction Certificate) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement and NSW Drivers Licence.
