About the Role
As a Theatre Orderly, you will play an important role in supporting safe, efficient and patient-centred care within our Perioperative Suite. Working closely with nursing and clinical staff, your responsibilities will include:
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary perioperative team
* Safely transporting, transferring and positioning patients to and from the Operating Suite
* Assisting with the preparation and cleaning of theatre areas
* Disposing of refuse and maintaining a clean, safe environment
* Performing other duties in line with role duty statements.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Flexibility to work shifts as required
* Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices (including manual handling, hazard identification and chemical handling)
* Experience working with patients and/or customers in a caring or service-focused environment
* Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced setting with competing demands.
Desirable:
* Previous experience working as a Theatre Orderly
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting
