We are currently seeking an Exploration Geologist who is accountable for the delivery of high-quality Exploration field data acquisition and storage across operations and exploration tenements.
Safety, Health & Environment Ensures the safe and controlled delivery of exploration programs by being non conditional about safety and adhering to policies and procedures Conduct Visual Felt Leadership (VFL) inspections focusing on exploration operations and contractors Promotes a strong SHE culture within Exploration Identifies and/or rectifies hazards reported in the field Participate in any SHE incident investigation, and ensures assigned corrective actions are completed Performance & Delivery Set Business Expectations
Undertake safe and efficient delivery of exploration geoscience field activities Follow existing standards and procedures for geoscience data acquisition, aligning with current systems whilst keeping abreast of future alternatives
Follow the outlined techniques for quality data collection that supports the adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
Foster and manage relationships with key stakeholders
Operational Planning
Provide input into the development of exploration program schedules and budgets Follow requirements of landowner agreements and environmental permits
Contribute to the development of operational reports
Work Management
Outline hole design to drilling contractors and monitor compliance to design
Undertake geological data acquisition following Geoscience Exploration Guidelines and per field instructions
Collect, store, prepare sample instructions for the dispatch of samples Ensure compliance against geoscience standards
Contribute to the development exploration programme close out reports as required Check Drilling Activity Reports for accuracy and confirm charges
Feedback
Reconcile borehole execution to hole design Reconcile predicted geological variables to actual
Action any feedback received on performance to improve quality of data acquisition
People & Teams
Maintain key relationships with Contractors & Service Provider management, supervision and workforce
Maintain key relationships within Geoscience Department
Maintain key internal relationships with mine site operation teams (e.g. technical services department)
Qualifications:
Technical Skills Must be experienced in at least one relational data base software package (preferably acQuire). Critically assess geoscience data for accuracy and consistency Ability to coordinate field work in accordance with schedule Ability to manage various contractors and service providers Ability to promote strong safety culture Ability to manage multiple scopes of work Ability to analyse gaps against internal and external framework and implement compliance solution
