Job Title: Software Engineer

About the Role
As a Software Engineer specializing in Delphi, you will be a core member of our international R&D team, responsible for the development and maintenance of our flagship desktop product, CostX. You will focus on building a rich, responsive, and powerful user interface and implementing core application logic in Delphi. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a mature, industry-leading product and collaborate with a talented team of back-end and web developers.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, enhance, and maintain the CostX desktop application using Delphi.
* Implement new features and user interfaces based on product requirements and UI/UX designs.
* Write clean, robust, and well-documented code for desktop environments.
* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in the existing codebase to ensure stability and performance.
* Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate the desktop application with .NET-based APIs and services.
* Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and share knowledge with the team.
* Actively participate in our Agile/Scrum process, including daily scrums, sprint planning, and team meetings.
Essential Requirements
* At least 2 years of professional experience in software development.
* Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in application development using Delphi. (Experience with modern versions like Delphi 10.x or newer is a plus).
* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns.
* Proven experience developing complex desktop applications with rich user interfaces.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Good command of spoken and written English.
* A graduate degree or higher diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Desired Skills and Competencies
* Familiarity with .NET and C#: Our product's back-end is built using .NET. Familiarity with C# and the .NET ecosystem is highly desirable as it helps in understanding the full technology stack and aids collaboration.
* Database Knowledge: Experience with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server) and writing SQL queries.
* Agile Experience: Prior experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
* Understanding of Web Services: Basic knowledge of how desktop applications interact with web services (e.g., REST APIs).
* UI/UX Principles: An understanding of user interface design principles for desktop applications
