MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER - Contract – Major Mining Operator

Carter Engineering seeks an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support brownfield and sustaining capital projects at a major Australian mining site. This 3-6 month contract may extend further for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver mechanical design, scopes, and technical documentation for mining infrastructure
* Manage procurement, fabrication, and contractor coordination packages
* Support shutdown planning, installation, and commissioning
* Ensure compliance with site standards, safety systems, and Australian Standards
About You
* Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer
* Experience in mining, heavy industry, or large-scale processing plants
* Strong knowledge of fixed plant equipment (filter presses, conveyors, crushers, materials handling)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Able to work autonomously and deliver results in a high-performance environment
