Illawarra Christian School is seeking a dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. While this position is currently offered as a 0.4 FTE maternity leave placement for 12 months, there is genuine potential for increased hours and ongoing employment for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities
* Teach Physics to students in Years 7-12, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject.
* Collaborate with fellow educators to create engaging and differentiated learning experiences tailored to diverse student needs.
* Support the academic and pastoral development of students, contributing to their holistic growth.
* Actively participate in the broader Christian educational community, promoting a Christ-centered worldview.
* Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices and remain current in educational trends.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
* A qualified Science teacher with experience or a keen interest in Physics education.
* Current NESA registration and accreditation.
* Strong classroom management skills and a variety of effective pedagogical strategies.
* A committed Christian actively involved in a local church, capable of integrating a biblical perspective into teaching.
* A dedication to professional growth and a passion for independent Christian education.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A demonstrated willingness to engage in school community activities through extracurricular programs.
* A valid, paid Working with Children Check.

Salary and Benefits
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Christian Schools NSW Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023, based on qualifications and experience.
