Position: Retail Manager

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation

Location: Oporto Cessnock, Cnr Allandale Rd & Ferguson St, Cessnock NSW 2325

Responsibilities

* Supervise and coordinate the day‐to‐day operations of the retail store to ensure efficient and smooth business performance.
* Monitor inventory levels and maintain effective stock control systems to prevent shortages and overstocking.
* Establish, implement, and maintain high customer service standards to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
* Prepare staff rosters and oversee employee scheduling to ensure adequate staffing during operating hours.
* Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise staff to maintain productivity and high workplace performance standards.
* Implement promotional and marketing activities (as per Franchise Agreement) to increase sales and customer engagement.
* Maintain accurate financial records, sales reports, and inventory documentation in accordance with company procedures.
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, policies, and operational procedures.
* Respond to customer inquiries, provide product information, and offer recommendations based on customer needs.
* Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring store expenditure to support financial targets and profitability.
* Liaise and negotiate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products at competitive prices.
* Monitor product performance and sales trends to optimise stock selection and inventory turnover.
* Resolve customer complaints and service issues professionally to maintain positive customer relationships.
* Implement and promote environmentally sustainable practices within daily store operations.
* Analyse sales performance and prepare operational reports for management review and decision‐making.
* Drive sales growth initiatives and customer loyalty programs to strengthen repeat business and overall store performance.
* Manage weekly payments to Franchisor: Royalty Fees, Advertising Contribution & Payments for Products from Franchisor.
* Manage weekly payments to Trade Creditors, Real Estate Agent Fees and manage Automatic Payment System.
* Arrange Fit Outs, related insurances, permits, licences, consents and approvals from relevant authorities. Manage computer systems and software for efficient operation of Oporto System.
* Manage Lease – Terms and Conditions.
* Responsible for Store's Accounting & Record Keeping including budgeting, Sales Data, Business Records, Accounting etc.
* Record Keeping of Sales, Wages, Profits, Loss, Balance Sheets & Related Financial Information.
* Maintain "Records for Audit & Inspection" by Franchisor.
* Observe, comply with and cause all agents and employees to observe and comply with the Oporto System Manuals.
* Comply with "Signage and Image" requirements of Franchisor.
* Under mandatory Initial Operational Training Program with Franchisor.
* Comply with Franchisor's Advertising, Marketing and Promotion requirements.
* Deal with Approved Suppliers Education & Qualifications: The appropriate candidate must possess at least Diploma or Advanced Diploma or Degree level qualifications in Management / Business / Accounting or three years of full‐time work experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.

Experience

A minimum of one year of full‐time relevant work experience.

Remuneration

The full‐time position offers an annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation.

Employment Conditions

Employment entitlements will align with the National Employment Standards and relevant Fair Work instruments, as stipulated by the Australian Government.
