About The Role
In this role, you will provide secure, compassionate, and family-centred care within the NICU, working collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes. You will be supported by the NICU Nurse Unit Managers, NICU Education Team, and the Manager of Newborn Services, with a comprehensive orientation and tailored education program designed to set you up for success.
Where You’ll Be Working
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at John Hunter Children’s Hospital in Newcastle is one of the largest and busiest NICUs in NSW. This 43 bed unit provides Intensive Care support for newborns requiring medical and surgical care in the HNE and Mid North Coast area, and is the only tertiary NICU outside of Sydney. You will join a dynamic, passionate team of health professionals, in a newly refurbished, state-of-the-art Unit, with the latest health care technology, who are committed to providing excellent family centred care.

Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- To be eligible for employment you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
