About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer provides senior-level technical leadership for the design, build and ongoing management of the University's ServiceNow platform and associated integrations. The Senior Software Engineer roles serves as a critical resource in implementing and maintaining scalable, secure and reliable ServiceNow solutions, working closely with platform architects, product owners and business stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements and align these with the University's strategic objectives.
The role provides leadership on complex ServiceNow initiatives from design to implementation and expert guidance on platform configuration and custom development, and ensure high-quality outcomes through strong engineering and SAFe Agile practices. Additionally, the role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with the University's goals, driving innovation and enhancing the institution's technological capabilities for a seamless and optimised IT landscape. This role provides technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced software engineers and other team members.
About You
* Possess strong technical expertise with the ServiceNow platform and hold current ServiceNow certifications (CSA minimum, CAD preferred)
* Strong experience across ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, or HRSD
* Proven experience designing and implementing complex ServiceNow solutions and integrations
* Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, best practices, and upgrade-safe development
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
* Demonstrates sound judgement and a proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coupled with a readiness for innovative solutions
* Experience in software development with a high proficiency in application installation, configuration, integration and troubleshooting
* Experience in managing and mentoring less senior software engineers
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
* Experience in contributing and supporting engineering programs of work, ensuring timely delivery within scope and quality parameters
* Meticulous approach to development and testing to ensure data integrity and optimal performance
* Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to design solutions that adhere to strict security and data privacy requirements
* Demonstrates proficiency in agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum or Kanban with a proven track record of successful collaboration within agile teams and delivering high-quality outcomes
Base Salary Range: $140,965 - $147,678 (HEW 9)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
