Responsibilities:
* Key Areas:
Engineering & Development:
* Design and implement robust, scalable, and testable engineering solutions.
* Develop and maintain data assets and models, encompassing data sourcing, transformation, and reporting.
* Create high-performance, scalable systems to handle concurrent requests.
* Optimize caching strategies and improve data retrieval efficiency.
* Fine-tune database queries to enhance performance.
* Maintain comprehensive developer documentation and uphold coding best practices.
* Conduct peer code reviews and effectively manage technical debt.
* Ensure thorough system documentation to support change management processes.
Data & Integration:
* Cultivate a data-driven culture by embedding architectural and governance best practices.
* Validate integrations through proof of concepts with cloud, on-premise, and third-party services.
* Drive continuous process improvement by optimizing tools, workflows, and automation.
* Ensure data compliance and security, addressing risks and maintaining governance standards.
Support & Maintenance:
* Provide technical support, including out-of-hours assistance when necessary.
* Maintain system monitoring, integrity, and security practices.
* Sustain knowledge bases and promptly resolve technical issues.
Leadership & Collaboration:
* Guide the technical strategy to align with business objectives.
* Mentor and develop team members, promoting Agile practices.
* Ensure consistent adoption of development standards across the team.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
* Hands-on experience with data lake technologies, such as Databricks.
* Expertise in data transformation tools and techniques (e.g., PySpark, dbt).
* Proficiency in both relational databases (like SQL Server) and non-relational databases (experience with MongoDB is advantageous).
* Familiarity with cloud-based development environments (experience with GCP is a plus).
* Solid understanding of automated unit testing and best practices.
