Research Position on Bismuth-Modified Peptides and Proteins (18‐month contract)
This position supports an Australian Research Council Discovery Project aimed at understanding the interactions of bismuth‐modified peptides and proteins with biological systems. The role involves designing, modifying, and characterizing biologically active peptides and proteins, as well as studying their interactions with cells.
Research Position on Viral Inhibitors Development (24‐month contract)
This position supports a National Health and Medical Research Council Ideas Grant focused on developing broad-spectrum inhibitors for viral infectious diseases. The role includes identifying and characterizing new inhibitors, as well as studying their interactions with viral proteases.
Key Responsibilities
* Study interactions between peptides/proteins and biological systems or viral proteases.
* Assist with the design and modification of peptides and proteins.
* Conduct independent and innovative research in medicinal chemistry.
* Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
* Present research at seminars and conferences.
* Collaborate with other researchers in the field.
Required Qualifications
* PhD in Peptide and Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
* Experience in peptide synthesis, protein expression, biochemical assays, phage display, and cell culture.
Required Skills:
* Demonstrated track record of innovative research in peptide and protein chemistry.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
* Experience presenting research findings at seminars and conferences.
