Offer description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our client's team in Perth, Australia. As a key player in the development of heavy industry products, this role will focus on cutting-edge technology and complex data management.


Role Details

* Location: Perth (near the airport)
* Hours: 40 hours per week / 8 hour days


Key Accountabilities

1. Work with the project team and multidisciplinary engineering team on mobile heavy mining equipment and railway equipment.
2. Manage test data and offloading pipeline for Green projects.
3. Contribute to efficient database architecture and large dataset storage.
4. Manage big data in various databases (AWS S3, Snowflake, SQL, InfluxDB).
5. Perform requirements analysis and documentation of engineering data requirements.
6. Prepare high-level architecture and workflows for data pipeline components.
7. Create, enhance, and support data-oriented web applications.
8. Collaborate with teams across the business to align architecture design with wider business objectives.


Qualifications and Skills Required

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software, or Network Engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in design and delivery of complex data warehousing and data management.
* Experience with writing and optimising SQL queries is essential.
* Experience with MQTT protocol (Sparkplug B) is essential.
* Experience with Grafana dashboard is beneficial.
* Experience with Python, Fast API, Streamlit, and React.js is beneficial.
* Experience with Confluence, Jira, GitHub, and GitHub Actions for issue tracking and version control workflow is advantageous.
* Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, CAN bus) is advantageous.
* Experience with AWS cloud platform and Snowflake cloud data platform is advantageous.
* Experience with report dashboard development (Tableau and Power BI) is advantageous.
* Knowledge of network, server, and cyber security best practices is advantageous.
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communications skills.
* Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.

Australian working rights are required. Perth-based candidates or those planning relocation to Perth are preferred.
