Purpose of the role
We're looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) to join our Yatala Workshop within the Asset Services – Fleet Maintenance directorate.
In this role, you'll:
* Service, repair and maintain a range of heavy and light emergency vehicles, plant and equipment.
* Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance to manufacturer and QFD standards.
* Apply your technical expertise to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and operationally ready.
* Work collaboratively with skilled tradespeople and technical officers in a supportive, safety-focused environment.
* Maintain accurate service records and contribute to fleet improvement initiatives.
Key requirements
About You
You take pride in your work, thrive in a team environment, and understand the importance of reliability in every vehicle you service.
To succeed, you'll bring:
* A recognised qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent trade certificate.
* Experience in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles (government or emergency service fleet experience highly regarded).
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Current C Class Driver Licence (MR/HR Licence desirable).
* Commitment to safety, teamwork and high-quality outcomes.
Special requirements
* Provide an after-hours rostered on-call service for the provision of urgent maintenance/repairs for fire appliances/heavy vehicles and equipment.
