Manila in Canberra is more than a restaurant—it's a living archive of Filipino memory, grit, and grace. We're opening this Spring, and we're looking for passionate pastry cook to help us bring our bakery and pasalubong section to life.
Job Description:
As a Pastry Cook, you will:
* Prepare and bake Filipino breads, pastries, and desserts with precision and care
* Assist in developing seasonal and heritage-inspired menu items
* Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the pastry section
* Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service
* Support inventory and prep schedules aligned with daily operations
Qualifications:
We welcome applicants with:
* Previous experience in pastry or bakery production (professional or home-based)
* Knowledge of Filipino bread traditions is highly valued but not required
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
* A collaborative spirit and willingness to learn
* Ability to work early mornings or flexible shifts as needed
