About the Role
The Solution Architect role is a key position within the IT Unit. The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering effective technology solutions that align with UTS's strategic goals and enterprise architecture framework. This role requires a deep understanding of business requirements, technical expertise, and the ability to translate them into scalable and robust solutions.
A Day in the Life
The architectural landscape at UTS is broad, complex and evolving. Solution Architects are typically aligned to particular domains (e.g., business, information, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, security). For this role, the position is embedded within the Enterprise Platforms area, which supports the core business platforms of the University. Key technologies include:
* Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud (Digital engagement)
* Optimisely (Digital experience platform)
* ServiceNow (Service Management)
* Protecht, Riskware (Risk management)
* Workday (ERP)
Communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills are as important as technical knowledge.

About You
As the Solution Architect, you will have:
* Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead or similar role in complex organisational settings.
* Understanding of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), modelling techniques and solution design methodologies. Certifications such as TOGAF or SAFe are a plus but not required.
* Technical knowledge in areas such as business applications, integration, information and data management, security or infrastructure.
* Experience designing and implementing solutions using industry-standard technologies and platforms.
* Proficiency in creating architectural artifacts, such as architecture models, specifications, and design patterns.
* Awareness of security and compliance considerations in solution architecture.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex requirements into practical architectures.
* Interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
* Experience working in cross-functional agile teams.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
