About the role
Foyer Oxford is the largest single‐site homelessness service for young people in Australia. It provides 98 self‐contained transitional apartments for young people, including 24 for young parents and their children. Foyer focuses on empowering young people to exit homelessness, often serving as the last stepping stone before moving into independent living. The Senior Therapeutic Specialist is located in Leederville and is a full‐time (1.0 FTE, 37.5 hours per week) contract position, ending 30 June 2027.
Responsibilities
The Senior Therapeutic Specialist strengthens early intervention, collaborative practice and therapeutic crisis intervention in response to mental health concerns of young people within the service. The role provides personalised and holistic mental health support to enhance wellbeing, reduce service barriers, and improve recovery outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
* Experience delivering mental health or wellbeing services in community settings.
* Strong knowledge of the mental health sector, referral pathways and engaging stakeholders.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to accept, respect and work with young people from a broad range of backgrounds, cultures and identities, including Aboriginal & CaLD and LGBTI individuals.
* Teamworking skills and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Proficiency with electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets and computers.
* Knowledge of homelessness and the sector.
* Experience in a senior or team leadership role.
* Experience providing on‐call support.
* Valid National Police Clearance.
* WA Working with Children certification.
* First Aid certification.
* WA Driver's Licence.

* Starting salary $99,469.50 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
