Senior Therapist – AHP Level 3 – Hands, Burns, Plastics
Location: Tasmanian Health Service – North (Launceston General Hospital)
Responsibilities
* Dual service opportunity: work within the allied health outpatient clinic and embedded within the interdisciplinary team in the specialist plastics and orthopaedic clinic. Collaborate with surgical teams with shared decision‐making towards meaningful patient outcomes.
* Manage a highly diverse hand therapy caseload, including chronic and traumatic injuries (tendon, nerve and bone injuries). Provide clinical autonomy in the management of simple fractures and support management of complex traumas.
* Engage in mentorship and further skill development in hand therapy, burns and scar management.
* Work as part of the experienced therapy team in Hands/Burns/Plastics and within the wider Allied Health teams.
Essential Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, OR
* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Desirable Criteria
* Certification of Hand Therapy (CHT) qualification or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
* Eligibility, or working towards eligibility, for membership of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.
* Current driver's licence.
Employment Details
Type: Permanent part‐time, day worker position. 37.24 hours per fortnight. Commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Salary
$117,272 to $126,182 per annum (pro rata). 12% superannuation contribution on top. Salary range in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025.
Salary Packaging
Access to salary package benefits: living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year, and other eligible benefits.
Allowances
Access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme. Professional development allowance up to $1,000 per annum.
