Your new role
* Lead the development and delivery of strategic communication plans that support agency priorities and objectives across internal and external audiences
* Provide high-level advice to senior executives and program leads, shaping messaging, media strategy, and stakeholder engagement
* Oversee the creation and quality assurance of communication products, including ministerial briefs, media releases, speeches, and digital content
* Analyse media trends, public discourse, and stakeholder feedback, using insights to inform proactive communication
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including other government agencies, media outlets, and community groups, to ensure coordinated and effective messaging
* Monitor and report on communication performance, applying evaluation frameworks to demonstrate impact and drive continuous improvement
What you'll need to succeed
* Expertise in media relations and digital communications, including experience managing public narratives, responding to media enquiries, and leveraging online platforms
* Sound judgement and decision-making, particularly under pressure or in a fast-paced work environment
* Leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor others, manage competing priorities, and contribute to a high-performing, values-driven team
* Baseline clearance is preferred
