This pivotal role blends operations leadership with people development, making it perfect for someone who thrives on structure, storytelling and shaping exceptional guest experiences.About the RoleYou’ll be the frontline force behind our tour delivery, ensuring our fleet and guiding teams are operating efficiently, professionally and in line with AAT Kings’ high standards. As a key training lead, you’ll coach new and existing Driver Guides and Guides, ensuring their skills from vehicle safety to world-class storytelling are honed and consistent with our brand promise.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a natural leadership style, and is passionate about sharing culture, history, and safety in a meaningful way.What You’ll DoPeople & TrainingLead onboarding and induction of Driver Guides and GuidesDeliver structured, culturally respectful training in guiding, safety, and serviceProvide on-the-job coaching and support to help our teams shineFoster a positive team culture through mentorship and motivationEnsure completion of systems training (e.g., Litmos, Concur, CDU accreditation)Be a role model in professionalism, guest experience, and AAT Kings valuesOperations & SchedulingCoordinate daily fleet and driver schedules to optimise operationsRespond to live operational needs—vehicle issues, tour changes, etc.Conduct ride-alongs and provide constructive performance feedbackSupport tour delivery when required, maintaining operational excellenceWork with internal teams and external partners for seamless experiencesCompliance & AdminEnsure training records, certifications, and incident logs are up to dateSupport investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiativesPrepare training and operations reports to assist with workforce planningUphold WHS and transport regulations, and educate others to do the sameWhat We’re Looking ForEssentialExperience in tourism, logistics, or transport operationsStrong people leadership and training capabilitiesHR Driver’s Licence, or ability to obtain oneSound understanding of safety, compliance, and fatigue managementExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalWillingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends and early morningsDesirableCertificate IV in Training & AssessmentExperience with fleet or scheduling systemsKnowledge of Uluru-Kata Tjuta and Watarrka National ParksPassion for storytelling, guest engagement, and cultural respectWhat’s in It for You?Housing5 weeks annual leave12 weeks paid parental leave (for eligible employees)Staff travel discounts for you, your family and friends2 paid volunteering days per yearAccess to a wide range of retail and wellbeing discountsTeam engagement days and career development opportunities
