M&A Associate / VP – Metals & Mining

A global investment bank is seeking an Associate Director or Junior VP (3–7 years IB experience) to join its Metals & Mining M&A team. This role suits someone with strong M&A execution experience who can confidently drive core workstreams and support senior bankers across high-profile public and private transactions.
The Role
You will support and lead significant parts of the M&A execution process, including valuation, modelling, deal documentation, diligence management and client materials. You'll work across both public and private M&A, with exposure to complex and cross-border situations.
Key Responsibilities
• Run key workstreams in M&A execution: valuations, modelling, diligence, process management
• Build and review DCF models, trading/transaction comps and scenario analyses
• Prepare client materials including IMs, board papers, strategy decks and takeover documentation
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including legal, tax and technical advisors
• Mentor junior analysts while supporting senior bankers in origination and sector coverage
What You Need to Bring
•
3–7 years of investment banking experience
, with meaningful time in
M&A execution
• Experience working on public M&A or listed-company transactions (ASX or global markets)
• Strong technical capability: DCF modelling, valuation, financial analysis
• Sector experience in Metals & Mining is beneficial; at minimum, a strong interest in the space
• Candidates from equity research may be considered
only if
they demonstrate deep modelling capability and transaction exposure
