Processing Superintendent
Native Mineral Resources is a publicly listed minerals exploration company with a portfolio of precious metal and base metal properties in pedigree Australian settings.
The company has recently acquired the Far Fanning Gold Mine and BlackJack Processing Plant, based in the Charters Towers region of Northern Queensland as part of a new and exciting transformational acquisition. This acquisition provides extensive exploration potential and a clear path to gold production with significant upside through resource growth opportunities.
About the Role
The Processing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the processing plant. They will lead a team of supervisors and plant operators to achieve production and recovery targets while fostering a strong safety and performance culture.
The role works closely with the maintenance, metallurgy, and mining teams to drive optimisation, reliability, and continuous improvement across the plant. The Processing Superintendent is integral to the success of our operations, focusing on the efficient and sustainable extraction of gold.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily plant operations to meet production, recovery, and target costs
* Monitor KPIs and implement process improvements to optimise plant performance
* Ensure optimal ore blending and feed management for consistent plant performance
* Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and operational staff
* Drive a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement
* Collaborate with maintenance and metallurgy teams to reduce downtime and improve reliability
* Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and ensure HSE compliance
* Provide regular performance reports and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
About You
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and passion for team development and operational excellence.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in gold processing plant operations, including at least 2 in a supervisory or leadership capacity
* Strong understanding of gold processing techniques (CIL, gravity, flotation, etc.)
* Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills
* Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
* Solid problem-solving, troubleshooting, and data-driven decision-making skills
* Experience with plant optimisation and maintenance coordination
Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing or related field (desirable)
* Certificate III or IV in Process Plant Operations (preferred)
* Current Manual Driver's Licence
* First Aid and CPR certification (desirable)
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
