As Acting Head of Bands (3–12), you’ll lead a vibrant programme spanning the Preparatory and Senior Schools, inspiring young musicians across Concert, Jazz, Rock, and Cadet Bands. You’ll bring vision, expertise, and enthusiasm to a department that celebrates teamwork, excellence, and the joy of music-making.
This fixed-term position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced band educator to take on a key leadership role and contribute to the ongoing success and innovation of Shore’s thriving Bands Programme.
To be successful, you will:
- Bring proven experience in conducting and directing Concert, Jazz, and Rock Bands to a high-performance standard
- Demonstrate excellence as a classroom Music teacher with a minimum of Stage 5 experience
- Lead with creativity, organisation, and collaboration across staff, students, and tutors
- Communicate with professionalism, passion, and genuine care for student growth
- Be NESA-accredited and hold a current Working with Children Check
