Chandler Macleod is recruiting an Electrical Project Engineer on behalf of a leading organisation operating within industrial automation and infrastructure delivery.
This is an intermediate‐level role suited to an engineer who enjoys working across both design and onsite delivery phases, can operate under pressure, and communicates effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and site personnel.
About the role
You will support the delivery of electrical scopes across multiple projects, working through design development, onsite installation, and commissioning. Projects vary in size and location, requiring a mix of office‐based engineering and site deployments that may range from short visits to longer‐term assignments.
Travel is project‐dependent and can be up to approximately 50 percent, with a clear preference for local assignments where possible.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver electrical project activities from design through installation and commissioning
* Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
* Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors, and site teams during construction phases
* Work closely with mechanical and controls engineering disciplines
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, WHS requirements, and site procedures
* Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders across engineering and operations
About you
* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
* Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within industrial or automation environments
* Comfortable working across both office and site‐based project phases
* Experience coordinating contractors and working in live operational environments
* Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
* Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required
* Available for an initial four‐week training assignment in India
