Carers Victoria is the peak body and statewide voice for unpaid carers across the state. We advocate for better recognition, support and inclusion of carers, and provide vital services that make a meaningful difference in their lives. We also work to improve the health, wellbeing and resilience of people in caring roles. We're looking for a Regional Carer Navigator (RCN) to lead local efforts in the Grampians region, covering Ballarat, Ararat, Horsham and other regional towns in the catchment.
About the role
As the Regional Carer Navigator, you'll work within our Regional Carer Engagement Team to help shape our footprint within the Grampians (Ballarat, Ararat, Horsham) region. This is an opportunity to build relationships with local partners and expand access to respite activities for unpaid carers.
What you'll be doing
* Planning, designing & facilitating inclusive, group-based activities that engage and empower carers
* Strengthening partnerships and referral pathways to make it easier for carers to get information, advice and assistance when they need it and increasing awareness of Carers Victoria
* Regularly reviewing, reporting on, and adapting the program we offer.
About you
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
* Experience designing and facilitating group-based wellbeing and inclusion programs
* Strong understanding (or ability to quickly develop understanding) of issues affecting unpaid carers
* Proven ability to build trusted relationships across community, health, and local government sectors
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, including use of CRM systems and MS Office
* Person-centred, inclusive approach that respects diverse experiences and identities
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to exercise sound judgement
* Highly developed communication skills with carers and professionals
* Commitment to child safety, cultural safety, and building connected, caring communities
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in social work, community development, psychology, counselling, or a related discipline, or significant experience in a comparable community-facing role
* Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for travel
* Current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake first aid training
* Willingness to provide a current Working with Children Check and undertake a police check prior to commencement

* Carers Victoria EBA Award Level 4 role (Above SCHADS award rates paid)
* Salary range of $92,494- $99,528 gross pro rata, plus superannuation
* Not-for-profit salary packaging available
* Hybrid working arrangement: a mix of working from home, potentially from place-based services in the region, regional travel within the catchment (with reimbursed costs), and monthly travel to the Melbourne office for team days. Regional travel within catchment may also require overnight stays.
