About the Role
Join us in shaping the future of Queensland tourism. This role plays a key part in strategic planning, implementation, and delivery of trade events led by TEQ and partners such as Tourism Australia, ATEC, and aviation stakeholders. These events include both onshore and offshore missions aligned with TEQ's strategic priorities and Destination 2045.
You'll also oversee TEQ's trade marketing collateral and international trade education and training, including the Aussie Specialist Program (ASP) in partnership with Tourism Australia.
Your work will help maximise value for Queensland's tourism industry and its stakeholders through TEQ's leadership and active collaboration.

Key duties
* Co-lead and deliver Queensland's presence at ATE in partnership with the TEDD Director and TEQ teams, managing budgets, stakeholder communications, event logistics, branding, and industry engagement to ensure a seamless and impactful experience.
* Support the strategic planning and delivery of TEQ-led trade events and programs (such as Queensland is Calling, Experience Queensland, and Inbound Queensland), ensuring alignment with Destination 2045, effective stakeholder engagement, and sound budget management across domestic and international initiatives.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver pre- and post-familiarisation options for buyer delegates at TEQ-led trade events, and report on associated participation numbers and feedback.
* Collaborate with the Distribution Development Specialist to develop and implement global training on Queensland's key tourism strengths and target markets, oversee contract deliverables with Tourism Australia, drive annual global leverage plans, with an aim for Queensland to lead in agent engagement and participation.
* Work with internal teams and the Distribution Development Specialist to enhance and promote the trade website, ensuring its content is relevant and aligned with the global brand to increase engagement by global travel trade partners.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and event partners, professionally represent TEQ at industry functions, and manage budgets, governance tasks, and reporting for executives and board members, ensuring timely provision of information for reports and briefings

* Proven experience in planning and delivering business-to-business travel trade events, with strong project and budget management skills.
* Deep knowledge of Queensland as a destination, its regions, and tourism products, plus experience in the Australian travel and tourism industry (domestic and international/inbound).
