**Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing**

This is a newly created role, joining the leadership and presents the successful person an outstanding opportunity to develop and implement the WHS strategy.
We are looking for an experienced and highly effective WHS Specialist to lead the WHS Department encompassing OSH, injury management, workers' compensation, and well-being.
Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, you will be working collaboratively across the business ensuring that all WHS services are aligned and implemented to meet strategic organisational priorities and is consistent with legislation, standards, polices and frameworks.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Lead the development and implementation of a new model of service delivery for the WHS function across the business
- Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic risk management frameworks to manage critical WHS risk across the organisation
- Follow and communicate industry trends and advise on action plans to meet statutory and voluntary requirements for Health, Safety and Emergency Management
- Lead and manage a small team of professionals to develop their capability, motivating and mentoring them to meet the current and future deliverables
- Provide strategic and timely advice on WHS matters to senior management
- Initiate, lead and direct significant WHS strategic projects including development and review of policy and procedures, frameworks and processes
- Collaborate with regulators, government agencies, health agencies and communities on WHS matters
- Prepare and present reports, submissions etc for senior leadership on a range of WHS matters
**Key Selection Competencies**
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience across WH&S
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing staff in a complex environment
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, together with proven ability to influence, negotiate and motivate staff and stakeholders with regard to a health, safety and wellbeing culture
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills in identifying innovative solutions and implementing research-based programs
- Proven experience in leading organisational change in order to create collaborative and effective teams capable of sustaining a good safety culture, including providing high level practical health and safety advice and service to senior management
