The Eva Copper Mine Project is located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People in North West Queensland, approximately 75 km north‐west of Cloncurry and about 95 km north‐east of Mount Isa. The Project is an iron‐oxide copper‐gold resource featuring multiple open pits and is poised to become the largest greenfield copper mine in Queensland.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled and safety‐focused Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team on site. In this role, you'll be responsible for the servicing, diagnostics, and repairs of a range of light vehicles used across our mining operations. You'll play a key part in keeping our fleet running safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our site. This is a hands‐on role in a fast‐paced environment where your mechanical expertise and commitment to quality work will be highly valued.
Roster: 14:14 | Location: Eva Copper | Employment Type: Day Shift only | Fulltime
* Carry out servicing, repairs, and maintenance of the mobile fleet and associated equipment in line with Thiess maintenance, lubrication, and servicing systems.
* Complete general maintenance tasks, breakdown repairs, scheduled services, and component change‐outs to a high standard.
* Source and interpret technical information using OEM manuals, technical bulletins, reference documentation, and computer‐based systems.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas at all times.
* Provide technical advice and support to maintenance team members and operations personnel as required.
* Conduct technical inspections and prepare job estimations to support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Qualifications
* Automotive Trade (Light Vehicle Mechanical) or relevant equivalent.
* Current open Drivers Licence.
* Experience in vehicle air conditioning systems (desirable).
* Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change‐outs, and servicing of light vehicles.
* Demonstrated high regard for and commitment to health and safety practices.
* Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to work autonomously within a maintenance team and take initiative.
