Overview
The Department of Education is looking for qualified and experienced Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologist, Social Workers and Behaviour Analysts to contribute to the Student Support Services (SSS) team in Wyndham. The SSS aims to assist children and young people facing barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through strategies and specialized support at individual, group and school levels. The team includes Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Behaviour Analysts, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, and collaborates with Area and regional staff to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes in schools.
You will utilise your discipline expertise as part of a multi-tiered systems of support framework and work with teachers, school leaders and other professionals to address barriers to learning and support student progress.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 June 2028 with flexible work arrangements, based in Point Cook.
Responsibilities
* Apply disciplinary expertise within a multi-tiered system of support to support student learning and wellbeing in schools.
* Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to influence system-wide change and improve learning outcomes.
* Provide specialised support at individual, group, school and area levels.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Education Improvement Leaders, Visiting Teachers, School Nurses and Professional Practice Leaders.
* Utilise evidence-based practices and up-to-date resources and technology to support learners.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified and experienced professionals in one or more of the following disciplines: Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, and Behaviour Analysis.
* Experience in student support services or related educational context is preferred.
* Ability to work within a collaborative, diverse environment and contribute to a positive learning experience for students, families and schools.
