Our client is probably the largest motor vehicle distributor in the South Pacific region, boasting a selection of world-recognised franchises covering the passenger vehicle, light commercial, heavy commercial, equipment, and machinery product lines. In addition to its retail services, our client also operates parts, service, tyre, and panel divisions, as well as a host of complementary associated enterprises.
An opening has become available in their Port Moresby head office, for the position of National Marketing Manager. Your objective in this position is to manage the day to day operations of the Marketing Department, ensuring the effective delivery of all marketing, advertising & promotional activities across all franchises and the dealership network, so as to maximise sales outcomes for the business.
Major tasks will include:
* Develop, align & deliver marketing plans, strategy & demand forecasting in accordance with the Corporate strategy.
* Develop & manage the annual departmental budget & cost parameters for the Marketing team.
* Analyze, negotiate contracts with advertising agencies & monitor contractor performance.
* Establish and maintain professional working relationships with media, advertising agencies & promotional merchandise suppliers.
* Monitor, report & ensure all marketing activities are implemented as per the marketing calendar.
* Review, adjust media press releases & VIP letters for organized promotional activities.
* Develop and present marketing analysis & rationale to support recommendations on key initiatives.
* Complete annual reviews for all Marketing processes & initiate improvements.
* Lead, coach and mentor direct reports towards developing and delivering a high degree of professional service.
* Schedule regular team meetings with direct reports & follow through on the achievement of key tasks, projects & deliverables.
* Evaluate survey & research data findings to develop pricing strategies for existing & potential market segments.
* Work in conjunction with dealership, franchise managers to plan, schedule, implement product launches & promotions.
* Revise and publish website articles on the company website for all organized marketing events.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following attributes:
* Bachelor degree in appropriate field, with a focus on marketing.
* At least 5 years experience in a senior marketing role.
* Critical thinking and analytical ability.
* Financial, budget planning and business acumen.
* Contractor management including negotiation and performance management.
* Strong organizing, planning and coordination experience.
* Comprehensive report writing & project management skills.
* Working knowledge & application of Marketing fundamentals and statistical analysis tools.
* Possess excellent team building, leadership & managerial skills.
* Minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience.
* High level of computer literacy & working knowledge of MS Suite.
* Effective facilitation, engagement & presentation skills when communicating with employees & stakeholders.
* Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skill with attention to detail.
