Determining the objectives and constraints of the design brief by consulting with clients, architects, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, functional needs, and spatial expectations.
- Conducting research and analysis on spatial planning, efficiency, safety, sustainability, and aesthetic requirements.
- Developing and formulating interior design concepts for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring a balance between functionality and visual appeal.
- Preparing and presenting sketches, diagrams, mood boards, illustrations, and detailed design plans to communicate concepts to clients and internal teams.
- Negotiating design solutions with clients, management, suppliers, and construction teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with project objectives.
- Selecting, specifying, and recommending functional and aesthetic materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and fixtures that enhance the overall ambiance and functionality of the interior space.
- Detailing and documenting selected designs for construction, including preparing working drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Supervising and coordinating interior fit-out and construction works to ensure execution aligns with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices to ensure continuous improvement and innovation in design execution.
Skills & Experience Required
- At least Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in interior design for commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and other relevant 3D modeling software.
- Experience in space planning, material selection, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) specification, and sustainable design solutions.
- Ability to coordinate and liaise with architects, engineers, construction teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
- Strong client-facing and negotiation skills, with the ability to present design concepts, gather feedback, and refine solutions based on stakeholder input.
- Excellent time management and project coordination abilities, with experience handling multiple design projects simultaneously.
- A portfolio demonstrating high-quality interior design projects with a focus on functional and aesthetic excellence.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
