Your New Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified, passionate arts and culture professional to coordinate and curate the Slim Dusty Museum collection and deliver our gallery and museum programs.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Museum and Gallery Curator will be responsible for developing a range of public programs to increase visitation and engagement with the centre and provide an engaging, educational and cultural visitor experience.
What you will be doing:
* Successfully coordinating all aspects of the Slim Dusty Centre museum collection, including curating and delivering exhibitions within the Nulla Nulla Gallery, managing and developing the galleries' art collection, and planning and implementing the annual exhibition schedule.
* Undertaking research of objects for the purposes of authentication, identification, labelling and creative interpretative materials.
* Developing and maintaining a sound knowledge of Slim Dusty, the Slim Dusty Centre, and the Slim Dusty Museum collection.
* Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver new museum and gallery exhibitions and experiences to reinvigorate the visitor experience and encourage repeat visitation.
* Delivering a range of ongoing public programs and educational experiences to support audience development and increase community engagement with the centre.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in Museum Studies, Visual or Fine Arts or equivalent industry experience; extensive understanding of curatorial best practice and exhibition development; demonstrated experience in successfully designing, delivering and managing exhibition programs across museums and/or galleries; and experience in exhibition installation procedures and object handling.
You should also possess well developed interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work cooperatively in a small team; excellent written and oral communication skills; and the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
