ABOUT THE ROLE
Norton Gold Fields is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Haulage Maintenance Planner to support the effective planning and coordination of maintenance activities across our surface haulage fleet. Reporting to the Haulage Maintenance Superintendent, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining maintenance plans that ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of haulage assets, including prime movers, trailers, fuel and servicing equipment, and supporting haulage infrastructure across multiple sites. You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance work is properly planned, scheduled, resourced, and executed in alignment with operational requirements, safety standards, and budget expectations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term maintenance plans for haulage fleet assets.
Create weekly and daily maintenance schedules in coordination with supervisors and operations teams.
Ensure all planned maintenance activities are accurately scoped, resourced, and prioritised.
Align maintenance schedules with production requirements to minimise operational disruption.
Identify and plan for breakdown work, preventive maintenance, and statutory inspections.
Work Management & Coordination
Review, validate, and prioritise work orders in SAP/AMT or equivalent CMMS systems.
Ensure all maintenance tasks have clear job plans, materials, labour, and time estimates.
Coordinate with supervisors, trades, and stores to ensure required parts and resources are available.
Monitor work progress and adjust schedules based on operational changes or breakdowns.
Shutdown & Major Maintenance Support
Assist in planning and coordinating shutdown maintenance activities.
Develop detailed job scopes, timelines, and critical path schedules for major maintenance events.
Work closely with maintenance leadership to ensure shutdown execution is safe, efficient, and well-coordinated.
Identify parts, consumables, and tooling requirements for scheduled maintenance activities.
Liaise with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of materials.
Monitor long-lead items and critical spares to avoid maintenance delays.
Support inventory optimisation by providing feedback on usage trends and demand forecasting.
Reporting & Performance
Maintain accurate maintenance planning data within CMMS systems.
Provide weekly and monthly reports on maintenance compliance, schedule adherence, and backlog status.
Analyse maintenance trends to identify opportunities for improved planning effectiveness.
Support KPI reporting for fleet availability, downtime, and maintenance efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with Haulage Supervisors, Maintenance Superintendent, Operations, HSE, and Supply teams.
Communicate maintenance schedules, priorities, and constraints effectively across departments.
Participate in planning meetings, toolbox meetings, and operational coordination sessions.
ABOUT YOU
You are an organised and analytical maintenance professional with strong planning skills and experience in mobile or heavy equipment environments.
Qualifications
Trade qualification or Diploma in Engineering, Maintenance, or related discipline (desirable).
Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.
Skills & Experience
Experience in maintenance planning within mining, transport, or heavy industry environments.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance systems and mobile equipment operations.
Experience using SAP, AMT, or similar CMMS systems.
Strong scheduling, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical maintenance requirements and translate into work plans.
Communication & Computer Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintenance management systems.
